I read another poster on another seed say "the republicans got Moneyballed."

I believe he was speaking about Nate Silver's 538 model.

But he/she was more right than he knew.  These guys are almost as good as Target. 

Incidentally, if you don't know about how bad*ss Target (yes, the store Target) is from a tech/data/stats perspective, you oughta look into it.  They know if you're pregnant, maybe even before you do.  They have a crime lab that helps the police sometimes.

Anyway, statisticians/mathematicians are the new rock stars.
